Background
“Untouchability” is the main cause for all problems within Indian society. Most of these “untouchable” people come from a very low caste supported in the Hindu religion. As a result children have been brushed aside in society, forgotten and ignored due to their low caste position. This has a huge effect on the children’s confidence and sense of self worth. The helpless people and little children are brought to Daddy Home from the streets because they have lost their families due to poverty, sickness and death, and most of them come from the lowest caste. Most arrive with physiological and health issues and so need a home where they can beloved and cared for, and they can find this comfort at Daddy Home. HIV/AIDS infected people and children are also deemed untouchable. They are treated very badly, not only by society, but by their own families also, who abandon them. Stigma and discrimination cause a lot of pain for these people, not even doctors want to treat them. Many of them die without any medical treatment, love, care or food.
Beneficiaries in Daddy Home:
We currently house about 190 beneficiaries which include 100 children- from that 100, 26 of these are HIV infected innocent little children- 15 elderly, 2 rape victims, 1 slave, 6 mentally challenged, 5 HIV infected adults, 40 pregnant mothers and 21 other beneficiaries including workers.
All the rooms of the Daddy Home are built in a square model within one building. Daddy Home is an integrated Home for all the people to live together like one large family, eating, playing, being happy and sharing the problems of life together with good Christian morals as one community of God.
